Can six sigma be applied to supply chain management with complex network?

In supply chain management, there are many people involved like supplier, manufacturer, distributer, retailer and customer, which become a very big network. Is it possible to implement the lean sigma tools in supply chain management?

Yes It is of course possible. you can use various lean and six sigma tools in supply chain management.

For Example: You can use 8 steps problem solving tool (8D), 7 QC Tools, Waste reduction specially waste of inventory, error proofing and 5S.

Also you can use KAIZEN as continuous improvement in any system to get it improved and bring it in the direction of excellence.

Moreover, Operation and Quality departments are also part of supply chain. You can use most of the lean manufacturing tools on operation and six sigma tools on quality.
