Description:
The Economic Case for Quality® Network seeks to use the knowledge and experience of quality leaders and share their insight into quality tools, technology, and concepts that will effectively, efficiently, and visibly demonstrate the value of quality to organizations and their executives. The network provides a community for quality novices and professionals to gather and share knowledge for making the economic case for quality.
The main objective of the ECQ program is to provide those who work in the field of quality with ideas, answers, and best practices to help their organization make better business decisions and perform more effectively. By turning quality conversations into language that senior executives understand, the use of quality and its role in leading world-class organizations in today’s tough economy will become apparent.
Ultimately, changing the perception that today’s executives have about quality and the profession is a key objective. A 2004 survey of 600 executives revealed that although 99% of those polled believe that quality contributes to the bottom line, only 64% believe quality is a management tool. In addition, 60% measure the economic impacts of business process improvement initiatives, with the manufacturing segment most likely to do so.
